Virtual datacenter: your own resource pool

With the virtual datacenter you rent not a single server but a pool of CPU, RAM and storage — and carve out as many virtual machines as the pool supports. All on KVM, all from one management panel, from €24.99 net a month plus VAT.

The pool principle

Instead of package limits per server you buy total capacity: the Starter pool brings 16 cores, 32 GB RAM and 240 GB SSD, Enterprise 24 cores with 64 GB and 500 GB — and the Custom pool is assembled freely in the portal. Within that capacity you alone decide how many VMs exist and how large each one is. A big database VM next to five small services? Twelve equally sized test machines? Either is just a matter of allocation.

02

Create, resize, delete VMs — in your hands

The management panel gives you full access to every virtual machine: create, start, stop, delete and resize, at any time and without a ticket. Freed resources flow straight back into the pool and are available to the next VM. The environment keeps moving without ever needing a new contract.

03

KVM virtualisation underneath

Every VM runs on KVM — the same virtualisation HostKontor's VPS and cloud products are built on. You choose the operating system per machine; full administrator rights are included. The pool sits on a 10 Gbit uplink and traffic is not billed by volume — the fair-use rule against continuous saturation applies.

04

Who the pool pays off for

The virtual datacenter fits wherever several machines belong together: agencies with separated client environments, teams running dev, staging and production, operators of many small services. One pool replaces many individual contracts — one price, one invoice, one panel. Compared with individually booked servers you gain the freedom to shift capacity to wherever it is needed right now.

05

Grow without rebuilding

When the pool is no longer enough, move to a larger package — the VMs keep running, only the ceiling rises. The contractually guaranteed 99.98% availability applies here too: if we fall short, the unusable time is credited back. Ordering runs through the customer portal, with payment by credit card, bank transfer or cryptocurrency.

Frequently asked

Good to know.

What is a virtual datacenter?

A fixed pool of CPU, RAM and storage from which you carve out virtual machines yourself — as many as the capacity supports. You manage all VMs from one panel and pay one price for the whole pool.

How many VMs can I create?

As many as your pool's resources allow — there is no fixed VM cap. Deleted VMs return their resources to the pool immediately.

Can I resize VMs later?

Yes — every VM can be resized or deleted at any time, straight from the management panel and without a ticket. Only the pool ceiling itself grows by moving to a larger package.

How does the pool differ from the cloud server?

The cloud server bills hourly per instance from your balance. The virtual datacenter has one fixed monthly price for the total capacity — any number of VMs included. Predictable long-running environments do better on the pool, short-lived experiments on the cloud server.

Which pool fits me?

Starter (16 cores, 32 GB, 240 GB SSD) carries a handful of VMs for web and services. Company raises it to 24 cores, Enterprise additionally to 64 GB RAM and 500 GB SSD. If none fits, assemble the Custom pool freely in the portal. All pools sit on 10 Gbit.
