If an experiment goes wrong, the KVM console still gets you onto the machine when the system no longer boots or SSH is unreachable. Administration is entirely in your hands — and in return nobody interferes with your stack, tooling or configuration.
Choose from Ubuntu 18.04 to 25.04, Debian 9 to 13, AlmaLinux 8 and 9, Rocky Linux 9, Windows Server 2019 and 2022, and MikroTik RouterOS. If you need to reproduce a specific environment exactly, mount your own ISO image. That lets you mirror a client's production setup or test your software across several distributions.
As a deployment server, the VPS takes builds from your CI pipeline over SSH and serves applications, containers or APIs directly. Three free snapshots per server capture the state before any risky rollout — if a deployment fails, you simply roll back to the restore point. Scheduled automated backups can be added on top as a paid option.
Every server includes one IPv4 and one IPv6 address and sits on a 25 Gbit uplink in Istanbul or 10 Gbit in New York. Traffic is not metered; a fair-use rule applies, meaning the port speed must not be saturated continuously — ordinary web, application and database workloads are unaffected. Availability is guaranteed at 99.98%; if we fall short, the unusable time is credited back to your account, with the details set out in the terms in the customer portal. A third location in Germany is in preparation — the cabinets are being fitted out, and the launch will be announced on this website.
Eight packages run in Istanbul with 1 to 10 cores, eight in New York with 1 to 20 cores and up to 24 GB of RAM; NVMe SSD storage ranges from 20 to 240 GB. Net prices start at EUR 2.00 per month plus VAT, which keeps even a dedicated staging environment economical. Moving up to a larger package is possible at any time, moving back down is not — pick your entry size to match the load you expect.
Ordering runs through the customer portal at id.hostkontor.de, with payment by credit card, bank transfer or cryptocurrency. Provisioning is automatic: the server is usually reachable within a few minutes of payment, with root access from the first minute.
