When a dedicated server is the right choice

As soon as an application generates sustained heavy load, must run alone on one machine for compliance reasons, or simply needs more cores and RAM than a virtual server sensibly provides, dedicated hardware is the honest answer. You share CPU, RAM and storage with nobody — the performance on the spec sheet is entirely yours. Databases under constant load, virtualisation hosts, game and streaming servers and compute-heavy analytics are the classic cases.

Three clearly separated categories

EKO is the entry point: 16 to 24 cores with 32 to 128 GB of DDR3 RAM from €29.99 a month — dedicated hardware at the price of a large VPS. V2 brings 32 to 48 cores and up to 256 GB of RAM for workloads with a serious appetite for memory. V4 is the performance tier: 48 to 80 cores, up to 384 GB of DDR4 RAM, two SSDs per server and a 10 Gbit uplink. You pay for exactly the class your workload demands — no more.

Full control over your own hardware

On a dedicated server you run the system entirely yourself: operating system, kernel, firewall and every piece of installed software are yours to decide, with full administrator access. Linux and Windows Server are available. That also makes the machine a solid base for your own virtualisation — you carve up your resources yourself instead of buying fixed packages.

Traffic and connectivity

EKO and V2 servers come with a 1 Gbit uplink, the V4 tier with 10 Gbit. Traffic is not billed by volume; the fair-use rule applies, meaning the port speed must not be saturated continuously. Ordinary web, application and database workloads are unaffected — you plan with bandwidth, not with a transfer cap.

Guaranteed availability, honest boundaries

The contractually guaranteed 99.98% availability applies to dedicated servers too: if we fall short, the unusable time is credited back, with the details set out in the portal terms. Just as honestly: managed services, snapshots and automated backups from the VPS world are not part of the standard scope here. You plan data protection on dedicated hardware yourself — the RAID setting for each configuration is on its card.

Order and get going

You order every configuration directly through the customer portal — payment by credit card, bank transfer or cryptocurrency, monthly or, for most packages, annually. When demand grows, move to a larger configuration or combine your dedicated server with VPS and cloud instances in the same account. How does a dedicated server differ from a VPS?

With a dedicated server the entire physical machine is yours: CPU, RAM and storage are shared with nobody. A VPS is a virtualised instance — cheaper and ready in minutes, but on shared hardware.

Which category fits my workload?

EKO (16–24 cores, up to 128 GB DDR3) is the affordable entry from €29.99. V2 (32–48 cores, up to 256 GB) takes memory-hungry workloads. V4 (48–80 cores, up to 384 GB DDR4, 10 Gbit) is built for sustained heavy load. All prices net plus VAT.

Are backups included?

No — on dedicated hardware you plan data protection yourself. Each server's RAID setting is on its card; RAID is not a backup, though. The VPS platform's snapshot feature is not part of the standard scope here.

How is traffic handled?

EKO and V2 come with a 1 Gbit uplink, V4 with 10 Gbit. Traffic is not billed by volume; the fair-use rule against continuously saturating the port applies.
